The Israeli troops closed the entrances to the village and prevented Palestinian citizens from moving, which erupted clashes between the two sides. They also fired rubber bullets and tear gas grenades which caused many citizens to faint.
During the clashes, the Israeli settlers attacked a number of Palestinian homes in the town and smashed their windows especially those near the graves.
On Wednesday evening, Israeli settlers also uprooted 15 olive trees in Qana valley near the village of Deir Istiya in Salfit.
The trees belong to a citizen called Qasem Mansour and are located in Kattan Al-Jamal near Al-Mawrid pond which is often frequented by Israeli settlers for swimming.
A force of Israeli troops raided earlier last week Qana valley and carried out a census of the citizens and their property, which indicates the possibility of an Israeli intention to seize new lands in the valley.
In another incident on the same day, an Israeli settler driving a car deliberately ran over a Palestinian girl called Bara’ah Al-Sharbati near Kiryat Arba settlement, east of Al-Khalil. The girl sustained moderate injuries and was transferred to the Ahli hospital.
