Wajeb: Fayyad does not represent the Palestinian people’s aspirations

DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- The Palestinian return assembly (Wajeb) said Thursday that Salam Fayyad with his positions and history does not represent the aspirations and hopes of the Palestinian people.

In a statement, the assembly added that Fayyad’s latest remarks to Israeli Haaretz newspaper about his readiness to waive the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their lands occupied in 1948 is the fruit of his participation in Herzliya conference and his intention to take part in what Israel calls its independence day (the occupation of Palestine).

It underlined that Fayyad, through such remarks, attempts to promote his own project related to the establishment of the Palestinian state according to the Zionist vision.

Wajeb also said that Fayyad’s remarks reflected his harmony with the Zionist vision and his support for the idea of establishing a Jewish state.

Wajeb stressed that the return of refugees is an inalienable right and any official, unofficial, local or international party is not allowed to discuss this issue in any way except in one direction which is the return of Palestinian refugees to the lands they were expelled from by the Israeli occupation.
