DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Khaled Mishaal, the head of Hamas's political bureau, called on secretary-general of the Arab League Amr Moussa to tell the truth and disclose the party that aborted all efforts for the inter-Palestinian reconciliation.
"Reconciliation is our choice and decision. We have worked for it and fought many rounds, but the result was a paper that was imposed on us and did not reflect our understandings. Then the Arabs found out that there was an American veto on the reconciliation, Mishaal said during the Palestinian student conference held in Damascus on Monday.
He pointed out that Moussa listened lately during his visit to Gaza to new flexible ideas from premier Ismail Haneyya about the reconciliation issue and approved them before conveying them to all concerned parties, who welcomed them.
The Hamas leader added that Abbas, afterwards, declared his intention to send a delegation to Gaza in order to reach understandings with Hamas that could resolve the problem of Egypt's reconciliation paper, but later he backtracked on his decision and returned to repeating his demand for signing the paper first.
In a context related to the Israeli soldier, Israeli protests have continued for the second consecutive day in Israel to demand the Israeli government to get Shalit released.
The Hebrew radio said Monday that the march which was organized by Shalit family and sympathizers started today from the settlement of Ouhami Hgetawot and reached the settlement of Kiryat Motzkin.
Noam Shalit, the father of the captive soldier, said in a radio interview this morning that all options have failed to get his son released since he was captured four years ago, and that there are only two remaining choices, either to let his son in captivity or to save him and thus avoid the mistakes made in Ron Arad's case.
