DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Turkish foreign minister Ahmet Davituglo discussed with Hamas supreme leader Khaled Mishaal in Damascus on Monday Palestinian reconciliation and breaking siege on Gaza among other Palestinian issues.
The Turkish Anatolia news agency reported that the officials discussed efforts exerted to bridge the gap between Hamas and Fatah views in addition to the Middle East peace process.
The meeting, attended by a number of political bureau members of Hamas, tackled means of breaking the siege on Gaza Strip and latest Palestinian developments.
Oglu affirmed his country's support for the Palestine cause, adding that Ankara would exert more efforts to break the siege imposed on Gaza.
He also renewed his country's insistence on an Israeli apology for the Freedom Flotilla massacre, compensating families of martyrs and wounded, and forming an international, independent committee to probe the Israeli attack.
For his part, Mishaal explained the Israeli escalated settlement activity in the West Bank, especially in occupied Jerusalem, including Judaization attempts and measures to force the migration of Jerusalemites out of their native city.
The Hamas leader praised Turkey's backing of the Palestine cause, affirming that its demands over the flotilla massacre were "legitimate".
