OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

The Israeli general intelligence apparatus the Shabak has claimed that a four-member commando cell affiliated with the Hamas movement was arrested in Al-Khalil last month.

Shabak sources said that all members of the cell were inhabitants of Deir Samet village south of Al-Khalil, and were detained on 22 June six days after an Israeli policeman was killed and two others wounded in an operation launched by this cell.

They said that preliminary investigation indicated that the cell was working since 2009, and added that its members were planning other attacks.

Dr. Salah Al-Bardawil, a Hamas leader in Gaza, commenting on the news report lashed out at the militias loyal to former PA chief Mahmoud Abbas, describing them as "shameful agents".

He accused those militias of facilitating the detention of Al-Khalil cell due to their security coordination with the Israeli occupation, charging that they have completely merged in the Israeli security system.
