"Unfortunately, the Arab follow-up committee has been used frequently by Abbas as a cover for making concessions and bowing to the Zionist and American dictates. We hope it refrains from giving a new cover for the Oslo group that lost its compass," Resheq said Thursday.
"We in Hamas along with our people reject the direct and indirect talks with the Zionist enemy, which are used by Netanyahu and his government as a cover to expand settlements and Judaize Jerusalem and the holy shrines. We consider these negotiations frivolous and useless," the Hamas official stressed.
In another context, Resheq hailed British premier David Cameron for calling for lifting the sea and land blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip which he described as a "prison camp" in order to deliver humanitarian aid.
In a separate statement, the Hamas Movement warned the Arab follow-up committee of exceeding its powers once again and approving Abbas's talks with Israelis.
"The last experience revealed that the Zionist occupation uses the negotiations to continue its aggression on the Palestinian people, particularly in terms of Judaizing Jerusalem which is facing unprecedented actions aimed at changing its landmarks, demolishing its homes and expelling its people, not to mention the ongoing settlement expansion in the West Bank and the continuing unjust siege on our people in the Gaza Strip," the statement issued by Hamas highlighted.
Hamas also urged the Arab countries to take a position capable of addressing the challenges which the Palestinian cause is facing and to reconsider their political choices after the option of peace settlement proved failure.
Many Palestinian factions as well demanded the Arab committee not to endorse during its meeting on Thursday Abbas's peace talks with Israelis.
This Arab committee will hold a meeting in Cairo today (Thursday) to review the US request to start direct negotiations between Abbas's authority and the Israelis. The committee, which comprises 13 Arab states, agreed in March on a US proposal to start indirect Palestinian-Israeli talks that lasted for four months and yield nothing in favor of the Palestinian people.
In this regard, a meeting between Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak and Saudi king Abdullah Ibn Abdelaziz took place yesterday in Sharm Al-Sheikh area during which they explored avenues for creating the atmosphere for the launch of serious direct talks between Abbas and Israelis.
Bardawil: Abbas's return to negotiations only serves Israel

GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Salah Al-Bardawil, a Hamas leader, has warned Mahmoud Abbas, the Fatah leader and former PA chief, of returning to direct negotiations with Israel whether with Arab cover or under American pressure.
He said in a statement on Tuesday that resumption of talks would lead to more internal discord and would lead the Palestine issue to the brink of collapse. He added that the talks would only serve Israel.
Bardawil said that Israel succeeded in endorsing division in the Palestinian arena between supporters of negotiations (Fatah) and supporters of resistance (Hamas).
He opined that Abbas would try to win an Arab cover for such talks during the Arab follow up committee meeting scheduled for end of this month.
Meanwhile, Hamas deputies in the West Bank said that continuation of negotiations would encourage Israel to escalate its aggression on the Palestinian people.
They said in a statement on Tuesday that the PA insistence on negotiations would lead to more such aggressions, noting that Israeli official statements reveal no intent to grant Palestinians their rights or state.
