RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- The independent authority for human rights (Ombudsman office) has demanded a halt to the Ramallah authority's practice of forcing civilians to stand trial at military courts.

It said in a statement on Wednesday that civilians should stand trial at civil courts and should be entitled to appealing the verdicts.

The authority added that it received tens of complaints about verdicts by those courts against civilians, adding that just trials should be available for all citizens.

It asked for abolishing all rulings against citizens in those courts and releasing them.

Meanwhile, militias loyal to former PA chief Mahmoud Abbas rounded up two Palestinians for affiliation with Hamas movement in Nablus and Qalqilia on Thursday
