Syrian President Bashar Assad expressed on Thursday hope that the Lebanese would succeed in overcoming their disputes and form a new government soon for the country’s greater good. According to a statement released by Syria’s state news agency (SANA), Assad received the head of the National Struggle Front MP Walid Jumblatt. The meeting, which was also attended by caretaker Minister of Transportation and Public Works Ghazi Aridi, addressed the latest security developments in Syria. SANA said that Jumblatt expressed belief that Syria would be able to overcome the current phase of instability. |
