Saudi embassy in Turkey became a safe haven for ISIL terrorists
Saudi Arabia is an unreliable partner in the war against ISIL..., why?
Recently, the Saudi ambassador in Turkey acknowledged that before the Unite States launched its airstrikes against the so-called Islamic state in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), the Saudi embassy in Ankara provided the Saudi nationals who previously joined ISIL ranks and later defected and wished to return to home with passports and identification documents.
The Saudi embassy also admitted that it housed many repentant former jihadists inside the Saudi compound in Istanbul or rented safe houses for them in downtown Istanbul.
As a matter of fact, it seems not so much surprising to hear that a country provides consular services to its nationals who live abroad but this might be a bit tricky in the Saudi case.
Many political experts believe that Saudi Arabia in an egregious complicity with Jihadists and with the connivance of the U.S. paved the way for brutal fanatic militants to travel and wreak havoc on Syria .
White House knew since the 2013 summer, when Syrian army captured the Islamist rebels’ strategic stronghold of Al-Qusayr near the border with Lebanon that the tide of war is turned against their mercenaries, hence CIA let the Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorists in Iraq pass into neighboring Syria and establish their diabolical entity to weaken Syrian Army’s achievements.
It was in mid-July 2014 when the Saudi secret service arranged a clandestine meeting between the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government officials and ISIL warlords, and the terrorist organization promised Kurds that they would never attack their territories. After one week Mousl, Iraq’s second largest city was seized by ISIL.
Immediately after the Mousl tragedy, Leyla Zana, a Kurdish deputy from the Turkish southeastern province of Diyarbakır, met with Massoud Barzani, the President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, and conveyed Abdullah Öcalan’s message to him. Öcalan who remains the unquestioned leader of the Kurds seriously warned Barzani from any collusion with Riyadh and explained that ISIL will pose a long-term security threat for Kurdish people.
Meanwhile the European officials in Brussels expressed their deep concerns that terrorist attacks are literally ‘inevitable’ if Saudi-backed jihadists return to their European countries.
