Tripoli Operation Continues: LAF Seizes Arms, Dismantles 3 Car Bombs

Lebanese army continues their operation against terrorists in the country’s north on Sunday, with the national forces managed to fully control the town of Minnyeh.

National news agency reported that the army is now in full control of the Minnyeh, noting that several militants were arrested during the operation.

The Lebanese Armed Forces Orientation Directorate issued a statement in which it said: "Army forces continue their raids and pursuit of militants in Bhannine, where this morning a third booby trapped car was discovered along with a depot containing a large amount of arms and ammunition in addition to fifty explosive devices set to blow up."

Earlier, it released another statement, announcing that army units expanded their area of deployment in the town of Bab-Tabbaneh, responded to fired, and searched the premises for terrorist militia.

The communiqué stated that a military force raided at dawn on Sunday the Salam school in Bhannine where militiamen were hiding. Many of them were injured and others were arrested, while the rest fled.

Meanwhile battles were still taking place during the day between the LAF and terrorist groups in the vicinity of Asmar Square, vegetable souk and Barrad Bissar.

In the same context, scores of families reportedly left Tripoli in the wake of renewed fighting.

Families arrived in Donniyyeh on board a number of busses stacked with personal belongings and some furniture, NNA reporters said.
