Hamas parliamentary bloc hails Turkish withdrawal from Israel friendship society

GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas's change and reform parliamentary bloc on Wednesday hailed the honorable stand of Turkish lawmakers who withdrew from the Turkish-Israeli parliamentary friendship committee.

The bloc in a message to Turkish parliament speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin expressed hope that the step would precede a total severance of all relations with Israel.

The message recalled Turkey's solid stand against Israeli violations of Islamic holy shrines and occupied Jerusalem and against the Israeli bloody war on Gaza in which thousands were massacred and hundreds of houses were destroyed over the heads of their inhabitants other than the shelling of mosques.

The bloc urged world parliaments to follow the Turkish example in supporting the Palestinian people and in defending just causes in the world.

NAZARETH, (PIC)-- Most of the Turkish MPs, who were members of the Turkish-Israeli friendship society, withdrew from the society in protest over Israeli practices against the Palestinians, Israeli parliamentary sources revealed.

Robert Tibayev, a member of the Israeli Knesset (parliament) who heads the Israeli side in that society, said that the majority of the Turkish members withdrew from the society following the tension in relations between the two governments in the wake of the Israeli war on Gaza.

He told the Hebrew radio on Tuesday night that only four Turkish opposition lawmakers were now present in the society.
