TOBAS, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed the Atuf plain near Tamun village in Tobas district and handed its inhabitants evacuation orders within ten days.
The IOF command said that the inhabitants, mostly Bedouins rearing sheep herds, were living in a military zone area.
However, locals said that the IOF allowed the presence of numerous settlements in the same area.
Meanwhile, IOF troops rounded up six Palestinians in Al-Khalil and Bethlehem at dawn Monday.
Hebrew daily Yediot Ahronot said on its website that three of those "wanted" persons were detained in Beit Ummar village, noting that stones and crude firebombs were thrown at the soldiers which damaged one of the army vehicles during the arrest campaign.
Two others were also detained in Al-Khalil, one was arrested in Arub refugee camp and the other at one of the electronic gates leading to the Ibrahimi Mosque at the pretext that he had a knife in his possession.
A young man was detained in Taku village, south of Bethlehem, for allegedly throwing stones at settlers and army vehicles passing on the main road in the village, local sources reported.
