Aoun Advises Sayyed Nasrallah to Change Game Rules: Report

17/07/2010 The head of the Change and Reform parliamentary bloc MP Michel Aoun has reportedly informed Syrian President Bashar Assad and Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasaan Nasrallah that the international tribunal's pending indictment would be followed by an Israeli attack on Lebanon with the aim of creating tension and seeking sedition in the country.

Lebanese daily As-Safir that Western diplomatic sources have given the information to Aoun, who in his turn, told President Assad and Sayyed Nasrallah that the alleged indictment of the so-called "uncontrolled" Hezbollah members would be accompanied by a Lebanese-Lebanese and Lebanese-Palestinian tension.

According to the report published in the daily, the Free Patriotic Movement leader expressed fears that upon issuance of the indictment, Israel would launch a large-scale war on Lebanon, during which the resistance would be hit by "Israeli fire" from one side and "internal strife fire" on the other.

The General also reportedly warned that given this situation, some Christian parties would seek to impose a new status quo in their regions while fundamentalist groups in Palestinian camps would act the same way.
According to As-Safir, Aoun asked his allies, particularly Hezbollah, to ready themselves to confront such strife and review the current structure of the national unity cabinet, which would be incapable of facing such threats.

"They want to kill you once again, Sayyed, and you're forbidden to defend yourself" Aoun reportedly told Sayyed Nasrallah during their last meeting. "There is still a Lebanese team betting on a new Israeli war, that's why … I advise you to change the rules of the game," he added, always addressing Hezbollah Secretary General.
