BETHLEHEM, (PIC)-, (PIC)-- Ten Palestinians were hit by rubber bullets and tear gas canisters and 16 others arrested during an Israeli attack on a peace march organized by the residents of Al-Walaja village, Bethlehem district, on Wednesday.

The villagers marched with ten foreign supporters to block Israeli bulldozers from demolishing their homes. Israeli forces responded with a brutal attack, local sources said.

After arriving at the scene, Israeli forces used batons and tear gas to disperse the protesters.

10 Palestinians, including 6-year-old Haytham al-Hajajala, were injured in the incident. Israeli police arrested 16 demonstrators, including the chairman of the village’s council, Salih Khalifa, council member Ala al-Daras, Ammar Abu Teen, Majdi Abu Teen, Mohammed Saleh Khalefa, Basil al-A’raj, and four foreign activists.

In similar developments, Israeli forces arrested Wednesday a Tubas resident while en rout to the Jordan Valley through an Israeli military checkpoint.

The Tayasir checkpoint is located near an Israeli military camp, which was established on the village of Tayasir in the northern Jordan Valley. Most of the village’s residents have been forced to migrate to the city of Tubas.

In other instances, Israeli occupation forces excavated dozens of acres of agricultural land and razed a wall in the village of Marda, north of Salfit, on grounds of not having a permit.

Local sources said that homeowners have all supporting documents proving their ownership of the land. They are set to file lawsuits against Israel.
