Prisoners committee: No peace or stability without freeing prisoners

[ 09/05/2011 - 04:15 PM ]

GAZA, (PIC)-- Nasha’at Al-Wahidi, the spokesman for the prisoners committee, asserted the illegitimacy of Israeli military court trials and the policy of depriving prisoners of family visits.

He told a sit-in staged in solidarity with those prisoners and their relatives in front of the Red Cross office in Gaza on Monday that there will be no peace or stability without freeing those prisoners from occupation jails.

Wahidi appealed to the Palestinian leadership not to sign any agreement that does not include releasing all prisoners and return of deportees without any condition attached.

Deportees said in a statement that they refuse any new Palestinian government that does not prioritize in its program their return to their hometowns and the issues of prisoners.
