After Friday’s prayers, thousands of people took to the Tahrir square and to various Egyptian streets to express their rage at the military authority that took control of the regime after toppling ousted President Hosni Moubarak. Marches also took place in Alexandria and Suez. The protestors’ major demands are to end military trials of civilians, prosecuting security forces accused of killing protestors during January’s uprising, and trialing the previous regime officials. The Egyptians were strongly supportive to the armed forces for siding with the protestors during January 25’s uprising, but were later accused of various abuses. |
