DEIR AL-BALAH, (PIC)--
An Israeli bombing of a house for a commander in the armed wing of Hamas, the Qassam Brigades, left 42 civilians wounded in Deir Al-Balah in central Gaza at dawn Monday.
Adham Abu Salmiya, the spokesman for the military medical services, told the PIC that medical teams carried 42 citizens to hospitals, describing their injuries as slight to moderate.
He said that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) targeted the house of Alaa Al-Danaf, one of the Qassam commanders in Deir Al-Balah refugee camp.
Abu Salmiya noted that the targeted house was in the midst of a residential compound, which caused damage to five neighboring homes and ten shops.
He quoted eyewitnesses as affirming that a missile hit the house, expressing surprise at the IOF denial of targeting it.
An IOF spokesman had denied shelling the house, alleging that the incident was the result of an internal explosion.
