Abbas suspends PFLP financial allocations

[ 20/10/2010 - 12:49 PM ]

RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- De facto Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas has ordered the suspension of the financial monthly allocation of the Popular Front of the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) cashed by the Palestinian national fund, PFLP sources said.

The PFLP receives 60,000 dollars from the fund that are distributed on its centers in the West Bank.

PFLP officials said that the suspension by Abbas, who is also the PLO chief, was an attempt to pressure the front to retract its decision to suspend its membership in the PLO.

They said that the decision was also a punishment against the front for its refusal of Abbas's direct talks with Israel.
