Egypt allows entry of lifeline 5 after banning ten activists

LATAKIA, (PIC)-- The Egyptian authorities on Wednesday night gave final approval to the entry of lifeline aid convoy to the Gaza Strip through Al-Arish port, Zaher Beirawi, the convoy's spokesman, said.

He added in a statement to the PIC that sailing to Al-Arish en route to Gaza would start on Friday morning.

Cairo, however, told organizers of the convoy that ten names would not be allowed entry into Egypt, Mohammed Sawalha, a member of the convoy, told the PIC.

Organizers of the convoy had decided earlier Wednesday to set sail Friday without waiting further for the Egyptian permission due to the long delay in their stay in Latakia port.
