LATAKIA, (PIC)-- Reliable sources in the Syrian port of Latakia told the PIC that Egypt had extended its "conditional" approval to the entry of the lifeline 5 aid convoy to the Gaza Strip via Egyptian territory.
The sources said that the conditions are related to the types of medicine, big trucks, and reservations over a number of persons accompanying the convoy, mainly those who accompanied lifeline 3.

They said that international mediation bids were made during the past few days including Turkish and Malaysian to facilitate entry of the aid shipment.

Spokesman of the convoy Zaher Al-Beirawi, commenting on the news, said that he did not know of such mediation.

He said, however, that Syria was in constant contact with Egypt to reach on agreement on the issue.

The PIC reporter in Cairo said that six Indonesian activists, members of lifeline 5, had arrived in El-Arish.
