Haneyya: Reconciliation impossible under security coordination
GAZA, (PIC)-- Haneyya said on Tuesday that calls for reconciliation should not be made for the sake of maneuvering to win American sympathy but rather should fall in national context. "We have called for reconciliation and stressed that dialog is the only road leading to consolidating and uniting the people", he added.
The premier was extending condolences over the demise of former Turkish premier Prof. Necmettin Erbakan at the Turkish charitable foundation IHH tent pitched in Gaza city for that purpose.
Haneyya later at night Tuesday extended his condolences to Turkish premier Recep Erdogan, a premier office statement said.
It added that Haneyya exchanged views with Erdogan on the situation in the region in light of popular revolutions and the changes that occurred. He also thanked him for Turkey's backing for the Palestinian people and opposition to the siege on Gaza.
