Islamic Jihad calls for capture of more Israeli soldiers

GAZA, (PIC)-- The Islamic Jihad movement staged Monday morning a stand in solidarity for Ahmed Abu Hasira and Mohammed al-Husni, who have been held in Israeli detention for the last thirty years.

Held at the Red Cross headquarters in Gaza, it included the prisoners' families, national faction leaders as well as hundreds of prison families and ordinary Gazans.

Speaking at the event, Islamic Jihad leader Khalid al-Batesh called for an increase in resistance operations in order to capture more Israeli soldiers, a move, he said, would ensure the release of Palestinians taken by the Israelis as war prisoners.

The only option able to redeem the thousands of Palestinian detainees is resistance, Batesh said.

He added that the thirty year prison terms already served by Abu Hasira and Husni demonstrate the ”unjust world's brutality” and invalidate claims of freedom and human rights.

”Our dignity remains incomplete as long as a single prisoner remains inside Israeli jails,” Batesh went on to say.
