Haneyya: Gaza reconstruction kicked off, security chaos finished

GAZA, (PIC)-- Prime Minister of the government in Gaza Ismail Haneyya has confirmed that the reconstruction of what Israel destroyed during aggression has already begun, and that the page has been turned on the ”security chaos” once and for all.
”We can assure our people that the reconstruction stage has already begun practically,” Haneyya said Saturday at the opening of the Shawa hospital in Beit Hanoun northern Gaza Strip.
He said that the government has received USD 30 million in donations, as the first stage in the plan that has kicked off.
The premier expressed hope that the government to be formed after the historic Hamas-Fatah agreement would continue to take on the project. He pointed out that Gaza is currently experiencing a renaissance that includes million dollars a month projects.
”The public works ministry has begun to erect complete residential areas granted to residents according to specific arrangements and procedures,” Haneyya said at the event that was funded by the IHH Turkish relief aid fund and attended by several ministers and PLC members.
”We've begun to apply the first stage in the Isra area in southern Gaza, for which 1,800 dunums of land has been allocated.”
Haneyya explained that the monthly funds come from tax revenues used especially for the projects and not for government salaries.
He said a deal was scored with Egypt that reconstruction would be the first of its joint agendas with Qatar. That will be at the nearest time, he said.
He said that the government has been given a pledge by the Islamic Bank in Jeddah to provide USD 137 million for reconstruction on infrastructure and sanitation projects, as well as projects in the health ministry over the next four months.
