TOBAS, (PIC)-- Citizens in Ein Al-Baida village to the east of Tobas city in the Jordan Valley have reported that Jewish settlers were accelerating building activity in the nearby settlement of Mikhola.
They said that the settlers were building eight new housing units in Mikhola, which is only one kilometer away from the village.
The settlement was among the first built in the Jordan Valley on Ein Al-Baida village land after the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and eastern Jerusalem in 1967.
The village, along with four others, is separated from Tobas by an Israeli military roadblock and the Israeli occupation forces confiscated vast areas of those villages for the sake of building army training camps other than the areas seized for the construction settlements.

The plans comes just hours before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visits the US.

The channel added that the matter would be discussed a day before Netanyahu meets with US President Barack Obama in the White House.
Hamas Slams Israel’s Approval Of 1500 Units For Settlers Near Jerusalem
May 20, 2011 by occupiedpalestine 0 CommentsFile – Israeli settlement constructionThe Hamas movement strongly denounced an Israeli decision to approve the construction of additional 1500 units for Jewish settlers in Pisgat Zeev and Abu Ghneim (Har Homa) illegal settlements in occupied East Jerusalem.
The movement issued a press release denouncing the “escalating Israeli violations and illegal constructions of Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank, including in occupied East Jerusalem”.
It said that the new decision is another example of Israel’s racist policies, based on land theft, changing the demography and geography of Jerusalem, and the ongoing violations against the holy sites.
The movement further stated that the Israeli violations, invasions and attacks would only lead the Palestinians to more steadfastness in their lands, and that the people will resist the occupation and will defend their lands.
