The Turkish source added that the appointment of Kakan Fidan as the head of the national intelligence agency (MIT) comes in the context of strengthening the role of this agency in protecting the decision-makers in Turkey after receiving confirmed information that the Mossad is looking for ways to carry out assassinations in the country through the Kurdistan workers' party or Turkish terrorist cells having relations with this party.
He noted that the Turkish political leadership remained silent on this matter for political and security considerations.
The disclosure of such information has taken place as Israel announced that its deputy premier would leave for Ankara to meet with Erdogan's opponents.
