Like Professor Shlomo Sand who has challenged the Zionist narration of JEWS and their ‘biblical right’ to occupy non-Jewish Arab Palestine – Former NYT reporter and author, Professor Stephen Kinzer also challenges the current Washington’s policy towards Islamic Republic and Turkey. He believes that Washington must change its blind support for Israel in order to stop Turkey going further closer to the Islamist regime in Tehran. He is also against the US attack on Iran because, he feels, it will destroy the US-friendly Reformist movement. Watch Kinzer’s interview below.
“Israel deserves special treatment from the United States, both for historical reasons and because there can be no regional peace without a secure Israel. America, though, has at times treated Israel in ways that weaken Israel‘s own security. The bond between the two countries has become distorted. As a result, the United States has failed to promote policies that will assure Israel’s long-term stability. Instead it lurches helplessly from crisis to crisis, hostage to the hothouse clamor of Israel’s domestic politics. It is right for America to stand by Israel, but not the way it does now,” wrote Kinzer in his book Reset: Iran, Turkey, and America’s Future.
Though Kinzer believes that American cannot bring peace in both Iraq and Afghanistan to serve their long-term interests in region without the help of Iran – he believes that Ankara would be the best “guide” for Washington to navigate its foreign policies in the Muslim world.
