Repairs at the pumping station exploded by saboteurs early February have yet to be completed, the official told the Egyptian Al-Shurooq newspaper.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported on Monday that the EMG gas company told Israel it planned to pump natural gas since Monday morning when reparations were finished and maintenance work was done on the line passing through the Sinai desert.
According to the newspaper, EMG's economic attaché announced it would resume pumping gas gradually while pipes continued to be inspected.
The pipeline complex south of El-Arish was exploded by saboteurs on February 5, stopping the flow of gas pumped to Jordan and Israel.
The saboteurs have not yet been identified, but residents have given reports of four men placing explosives under the pipeline after tying up security guards and then warning locals that an explosion would take place. They were last seen fleeing the scene in two cars.
Egyptian gas resumes to Jordan but not to Israel...
Via Friday-Lunch-Club
"Egypt renewed the flow of natural gas to Jordan today. Sources inform "Globes" that gas supplies were resumed at about 3pm this afternoon but meanwhile it remains unclear when the gas will start flowing to Israel again. The flow of natural gas from Egypt to Israel and Jordan was stopped on February 5 following a terror attack on the gas pipeline near El Arish in the Sinai, at the height of the Egyptian uprising.Since then East Mediterranean Gas Company has informed its Israeli clients four times that the renewal of gas supplies is imminent, only for the renewal of the gas flow to be delayed."
