BEIRUT, (PIC)-- Independent Palestinian MP Jamal Al-Khudari has called for official Arab action to lift the catastrophic siege on the Gaza Strip and for reactivating the peoples' role in this regard.
He said in a statement on Saturday after meeting with Lebanese premier Saad Al-Hariri in Beirut that he briefed the premier on the conditions in the beleaguered Strip as a result of the four-year Israeli siege, the closure of commercial crossings, and blocking entry of life necessities.
The lawmaker pointed to the death of more than 500 sick persons due to inability to travel abroad to receive proper treatment and to the shortage in medical equipment in Gaza.
Hariri, for his part, said that his country backs the Palestinian people and cause.
Khudari is currently visiting Lebanon to participate in a childhood conference organized by a Lebanese organization catering for children under the patronage of Hariri.
