Five Steps to Resolve Lebanese Impasse

06/10/2010 Head of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Mohammad Raad identified in an interview with As-Safir newspaper published on Wednesday five broad lines that should be carried out in order to resolve the current impasse in Lebanon.

First of all, the March 14 alliance, labeled as the “parties that want to stage a coup,” should stop resorting to regional and international states.

Secondly, the issue of false witnesses in the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Martyr Rafik Hariri should be seriously dealt with “to uncover the source that misled the international Rafik Hariri probe.”

The third step should be to adopt moves reflecting the willingness to improve relations with Syria.

The fourth step, according to Raad, was that all parties should acknowledge that the triangle of “the army, people and Resistance” protects Lebanon.

The final step was to “commit to building a strong, capable and just state.”
