Two Qassam commanders killed in al-Khalil

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Two Qassam commanders were killd on Friday by the Israeli occupation forces in the southern West Bank city of al-Khalil in an operation that lasted over eight hours. Ten others were arrested in the same operation, according to PIC correspondent.

IOF troops supported by more that forty army vehicles and bulldozers as well as helicopters and drones started an extensive military operation shortly after midnight concentrating on mount Jouhar neighbourhood of al-Khalil.

Local sources said that the IOF troops surrounded a three-storey house belonging to Saadi Barkan and along with other houses belonging to his relatives and called on those inside to get out to the street before they started firing intensively at the houses using machineguns and grenades.

The sources added that military bulldozers drew close Barkans house and partially demolished it but soldiers dared not enter the house in which a number of resistance fighters were believed to be barricading themselves.

The Israeli assault resulted in the death of Nasha't al-Karmi and Ma'moun al-Natshe, both of them commanders affiliated with the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.

At least ten Palestinian men were arrested during the assault.

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Dozens of local citizens in al-khalil braved the heavy IOF military presence at mount Jouhar and managed to retrieve the bodies of Nasha't al-Karmia and Ma'moun al-Natshe around 10 am and took them to al-Mohtaseb hospital in al-Khalil.

An atmosphere of anger prevailed amongst the residents of al-Khalil at the killing of the two resistance fighters and at the assault by the IOF troops on the bodies of the two martyrs after they were killed.

Dozens of residents followed the bodies of the two martyrs in a spontaneous protest march calling for retaliation and for an end to the frivolous talks with the occupation.

Mount Jouhar witnessed angry reactions by local youth who threw stones and empty bottles at the IOF troops to which the IOF responded by firing live ammunition at the angry youth.

The IOF troops carried on with the demolition of the homes of the Kabalan clan.

Martyr Natshe's funeral in al-Khalil

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Thousands of Palestinians from the southern West Bank city of al-Khalil participated in the funeral of Ma'moun al-Natshe, while preperations for transferring the body of Nash'at al-Karmi to his hometown of Tulkarem are underway.

PIC correspondent said that thousands of people gathered outside al-Muhtaseb hospital where the bodies of the martyrs were taken after young men managed to retrieve the bodies of the martyrs under fire from the surrounding IOF troops.

Participants in the funeral were chanting in support of Hamas and its armed wing the Qassam Brigades and calling on the Qassam Brigades to retaliate to occupation crimes.

The body of Natshe was first taken to Ansar Mosque where the funeral prayers were performed then he was carried on the shoulders of men who marched the roads of the city to the Martyrs Cemetery in Wadi Abu Kteila to the west of al-Khalil.

The IOF assault so far resulted in two martyrs, the demolition of two homes and the arrest of an unknown number of people.

Abbas's Militia with the Shabak

Local sources said that plain clothes elements of the Israeli internal security service the Shabak along with elements of Abbas's security were spread throughout the city, especially during the funeral of Natshe.

The sources added that Shabak elements used cars carrying Palestinian number plates and kidnapped a number of Palestinians in mount Jouhar.

While Abbas's militiamen followed the participants in the funeral and took of photos of a number of them.
