THE PALESTINIAN ZIONISTS

Daniel Mabsout,

This is a Palestinian war on Syria in the sense that this war and assault on Syria would not have been possible without the Palestinian- mainly the HAMAS- consent and contribution. Any Position of HAMAS unfavorable to this assault would have greatly affected the nature and the outcome of this assault and would have limited its range and its scope.

What has happened is that HAMAS -which carries the banner of the Palestinian armed Resistance- was made to withdraw from the essential struggle with Israel in favor of a sectarian alignment headed by Turkey and the gulf countries against the forces of armed Resistance that include Iran and Syria and to which HAMAS belongs . Now that -due to Arab Spring- the struggle with Israel has been neutralized in favor of local internal conflicts that seek to implement some sort of democracy , HAMAS has operated a shift to find itself in the same boat with other Arab countries for whom the struggle with Israel was no more a priority.

The involvement of HAMAS in the assault on Syria is more than just verbal it includes active participation in the battle against the Syrian army. Many HAMAS Leaders were busy recruiting fighters in the Palestinian camps of Syria for the war against Syria . Recruiting was also taking place in the Palestinian camps of Lebanon. This is how Palestinians constitute the largest group among non Syrian rebels fighting in Syria . No doubt that this represents a serious blow to the Palestinian cause .And even if the Palestinian camps of Lebanon have always been a recruiting place where people were trained and sent to various places- mainly Iraq -or were made to serve Hariri’s local endeavors and schemes , it is the first time that Palestinians are being used – in such a scale- against themselves for a self defeating purpose where they are set against their allies and made to serve directly their enemies’ agendas .

The Palestinians have become thus soldiers in the war launched by Israel and its allies against the resisting forces of the region .Even the last war on Gaza falls within the same range and had for effect to escalate the war on Syria and add to the credibility of HAMAS and test its power of retaliation and resistance. A new formula is in view for HAMAS and the visit of 14th of March Lebanese responsibles to Gaza is not innocent . The abolition of the right to return is at stake and steps regarding this measure were discussed whereby Palestinians in Lebanon would be granted permanent residency and provided with passports at Qatar’s expense. Same thing is in store for Palestinians in Syria where Palestinians will trade Palestine for power and residency in some Arab countries and maybe a form of self determination or self rule that Israel had refused to grant them . This explains their involvement in the Syrian internal war whereby they hope to achieve -in Syria and Jordan-- what they failed to achieve in Palestine, not to forget that among the three demands -on behalf the US administration- that Assad refused to meet was the relinquishment of the right to return of Palestinians which made the US and allies escalate the war on Syria .

What Mash’al has brought with him to Gaza must be the promise of a certain reward as a compensation for the sectarian shift that HAMAS operated and for its active participation in liquidating the Palestinian Cause by selling out Syria to its enemies . We don’t know the details of this reward except that it must be at the expense of the cause itself . All are to recognize and normalize and follow the Turkish model or cease to be. The Palestinians seem to have become a people looking – like Zionists – for a fictitious homeland after they have forsaken their country Palestine and fought for the purpose of their enemy. The only hope left is that this shift and betrayal on behalf of HAMAS and others will end in defeat and consequently in their coming back to their senses
