CAIRO, (PIC)-- The relief and emergency committee in the Arab Doctors Union launched the biggest ever convoy of medicine from Cairo to the Gaza Strip on Wednesday evening to the tune of 2.5 million dollars.
Dr. Ibrahim Al-Za'farani, the committee's secretary, said in a statement that the convoy is the biggest of its kind since the Israeli war on Gaza.
He said that it includes medicine, medical equipment and a fully equipped ambulance vehicle.
Za'farani said that the committee was keen on meeting the Palestinian health ministry's urgent needs of certain kinds of medicine, adding that more convoys would be soon dispatched to the Strip at approximately the same cost.
The cost of the convoy was fully donated by the Egyptian people, he pointed out.
